It goes without saying that we have all experienced a more stressful year than normal, and many members of our community have encountered very difficult circumstances for the health and wellbeing of their families. Knowing this, we can confidently say that there has never been a better time to give back.

At Optivus, we believe in the importance of an overall healthy lifestyle, and giving back is not only good for the recipients, but also for those who are doing it. According to the Cleveland Clinic, giving back is associated with the following health benefits:

  • Lower blood pressure
  • Increased self-esteem
  • Less depression
  • Lower stress levels
  • Longer life
  • Greater happiness and satisfaction

Let’s dive into some ways that you and your family can give back this year to help those in need while also improving your overall wellbeing too!

Donate to Our Toys for Tots Drive

This year, we decided to participate in a Toys for Tots drive to help those in our community who are struggling to provide the holiday experiences that they would like to for their family. If you would like to participate, you can drop an unwrapped item off at the clinic until December 16th!

Make a Financial Donation

As a family, think about what you are most passionate about and find a charity that aligns with one or all of those passions. Once you decide on an organization to donate to, work together to come up with an amount that works for you and send it in!

Send Warm Wishes

The elderly in our communities have been isolated for a long time, and now that the holiday season is here, they could really use some warm wishes. Rally your family, friends, and neighbors to all write a few letters or draw pictures to send to your local nursing home or retirement community.

We hope these ideas inspire you to give back in the way that is most fulfilling for you and helpful to our community this holiday season.
